The Results speak for themselves.

My partner in crime and all things fitness Liz (fitforlifeLiz.blogspot.com) and I just finished a 3 day detox and cleanse.  We tried the new 3 Day Refresh by Beachbody.  This is a simple cleanse, but it is not easy. You are only eating about 900 calories a day. But let me tell you the results are totally worth it!
I started Monday morning and I felt pretty good most of the day. I wasn't overly hungry and I found my hunger was satified when I did eat my meals.  Tuesday wasn't so good. I wasn't as prepared for my day. I had a crazy week of running around and it may not have been the best time to undertake this cleanse.  I wasn't hungry until I went to Target Tuesday after noon and then my family inflicted a cruel form of torture having pizza for dinner.  In addition I had a headache for most of the day and I think that was my caffeine withdrawal making itself known.  I had had green tea Monday morning but ran out of time to make it before I had to dash out the door Tuesday morning.  Some excedrin migraine saved the day at bedtime.  Wednesday I was a little better prepared to face the day, but I didn't get to eat my meals at the times I needed to  and by the time I was ready to eat dinner I was ready to gnaw my own arm off.  But once I ate I was satisfied and full.

But Brenda, you said it was worth it? it doesn't sound like it.
It certainly was worth it: I lost 6.5 pounds and 1" from my waist and 2" inches from my hips
Not bad for 3 days!  If you had asked me Wednesday night if I would do it again, I would have answered hell no, but this morning looking at my results and I having hopped on the scale this morning and seeing another pound gone, I will definitely use this again! I think the key is timing and preparation, making sure to eat or at least drink some tea every 2 hours and having what you need prepped and ready to go so when you need to eat you don't have to wait to long to prepare it. The dinner recipes that I had were really good and will make very good side dishes in the future and I also figured out on the last day a good flavor boost for the Vanilla fresh protein shake.
So now it's back to P90X3 and marathon training. Liz and I registered for the Glass Slipper Challenge in Disney World in February. Stay tuned for progress reports.

A Journey Begins...

... with one step.

Officially my journey began in mid April (unofficially it's been on-going since college).  I was about 6 weeks out from having second baby and I was ready to start moving again. Well, maybe not that ready but I knew it was something I *had* to do.  I was heavy, but luckily I hadn't gained much weight with this pregnancy.  I had been haphazard at best when it came to working out. The most dedicated I had been in the recent past had been when I trained for my half marathon in January of 2013, and even that was a training program that left much to be desired, but I finished the race and have the medal to prove it and I think I ran a decent time for a first one.

Before

My husband suggested I try P90X3. It's only a half hour and there is a lot of variety in the workouts. 2 things that I need: variety and quick.  I tried it and I loved it.  I'm currently on day 43 of 90. I love it. Truthfully the weight is not falling off but the inches are and I can see muscles that haven't seen in a long time or that I've never seen.
I also decided I'm running another half marathon. I was supposed to run the Princess half at Disney World this year, but instead I had a baby. So I am running in 2015 and I have started training. And I think I am becoming a better runner.  I can run for longer periods without getting winded and it feels good.
For the most part, I'm eating clean. I especially love the 2 week meal plans in Clean Eating magazine and I have been following them. I recently added  Shakeology and I love it. It tastes good, fills me up and its helped with cravings, except I'm craving it now.
And something happened along the way, I went from thinking exercise and eating right was something I 'had' to do to something I wanted to to do, something I enjoyed. I feel better than I have in years, I have more confidence than I have had in a long time. My husband is really attracted to me again, I feel sexy, I feel powerful.  I've reignited my love of nutrition and helping people, I want to help other people feel this good.
One journey leads to another.
